The instructions were to use only the two tracks as audio source material for the track and no other sounds - and for the sound of the piano to be preserved in the end product.

My approach was to cut phrases of the original performances, map them to my keyboard and then play them back by improvising. This created the basis for a new track which I then started to add effects to - I wanted to create contrasts in specific places without distorting the original sound or pacing too much.
